Dec 06, 2019 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic will today take delivery of its 21st Airbus A220-300 aircraft, a company official informs.
The aircraft performed its first flight on November 20, 2019, and has now completed its test flight program prior to delivery.
After this, airBaltic is still to receive one more aircraft before year-end, completing the 2019 delivery program comprising six aircraft and bringing the fleet to 22 aircraft.
The two aircraft are also the first in the new series of 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft ordered in May 2018.
airBaltic has signed a sale-leaseback contract with Chorus Aviation Capital for the first five new Airbus A220-300 aircraft in the series, with the next three aircraft under this contract to be delivered by the end of Q3, 2020.
