Nov 06, 2019 (newstodate): Backed by 80 percent of investments from a UK source, Iceland is to see the resurrection of WOW Air, now branded PLAY, replacing its project name "We Are Back".
   At yesterday's press conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, plans were presented for start of low-cost services from this winter with initially two Airbus A321 aircraft to six European destinations, to be followed by the addition of routes to North American destinations in Spring 2020 as the fleet expands to six aircraft, growing further to 10 aircraft within the first three years of operation.
   Behind the new airline is a course of former WOW Air executives with Arnar Mar Magnusson to serve as CEO, bringing in experience from six years with WOW Air, last serving as the carrier's Accountable Manager / VP Operations.
   PLAY is yet to obtain its licence to start operations, expected shortly.
