Nov 05, 2019 (newstodate): The demise of WOW Air left a void in Iceland's connectivity. But so far no less than two projects seem to be readying for taking over the relay.
One is tentatively named WOW Air 2.0, to be set up by the US company USAerospace Associates LLC to re-launch WOW Air's Transatlantic flights between the USA and Iceland.
But so far less exposed in the media is another project, tentatively named "WAB - We Are Back", formed around a group of ex-WOW Air executives and other former WOW Air staff with rich experience in the airline industry.
According to media reports, the coming new airline will initially operate a fleet of six aircraft on a European and N American route network comprising 14 destinations.
Today may provide deeper insight into WAB as news will break at a press conference around noon in Reykjavik, Iceland.
