Nov 28, 2019 (newstodate): Turkish Cargo has proved a boon to Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, lifting cargo volumes significantly.
On November 30, 2019, the carrier will even operate the route between Istanbul and Vilnius with a Boeing 747-400F freighter as a one-off event.
-Nothing special, really. The trust blossoms the fruits, we can say. There is a demand for a big bird, and we provide it, says Efe Ozler, Turkish Cargo Manager Finland.
Leaving Turkish modesty aside, Turkish Cargo is indeed contributing strongly to the positive cargo growth at Vilnius Airport after launching freighter flights since April 19, 2018, with two weekly Airbus A330-200F rotations.
During the first 10 months of 2019, Vilnius Airport has handled 11,313 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 8.32 percent, y-o-y.
