Nov 19, 2019 (newstodate): The Slovenian government is reportedly close to establishing a new national carrier with a foreign regional airline, to fill the void left by the collapse of Adria Airways on October 1, 2019.
Industry sources claim that negations have been conducted with five companies for setting up a new airline under a joint venture with a partner, with four Slovenian and one foreign party taking part in discussions.
Supported by the Slovenian government and tentatively named Air Slovenia, a new carrier may lift-off on its first flight already in February 2020 with a fleet of 12 aircraft on a route network comprising 15 destinations in Europe.
