Nov 26, 2019 (newstodate): Ukraine and Qatar have agreed to lift restrictions on commercial flights between the two markets to allow for new routes and more frequencies.
Qatar Airways added Kiev Boryspil Airport to its network with the first flight from Doha on August 28, 2017, offering a daily service with Airbus A320 aircraft, increasing to 11 weekly rotations from July 1, 2018.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of Qatar have now signed a protocol to liberalize the commercial air traffic between the two markets, removing restrictions on the number of flights, types of aircraft, and destinations in both countries.
As one result, Qatar Airways is now mulling plans for adding flights to a second destination in Ukraine - Lviv where the carrier plans to negotiate 5th Freedom Rights allowing it to fly from Ukrainian airports to airports in third countries.
