Nov 01, 2019 (newstodate): Norwegian seafood exporters have probably seen the last of AirBridgeCargo's two, occasionally three weekly freighter services at Oslo Airport.
As of November 1, 2019, ABC and its partner CargoLogicAir have cancelled a total of 11 freighter services, among which is the service launched on November 15, 2016, to Moscow Sheremetyevo and connecting to the Asian destinations on the ABC route network.
In effect, the service at Oslo Airport was suspended already from Aug 02, 2019, when Russian authorities banned the transfer of perishables at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
The operation was tentatively resumed in September with a twice-weekly services by ABC's partner, CargoLogicAir.
But early in October, CargoLogicAir informed the market that "due to operational permit issues, we have had to take the difficult decision to suspend the flight for the foreseeable future".
According to the letter, the carrier aimed to return the flight to its schedule again by November 2019, while unable to confirm an exact date for restart of operations.
And now this plan seems to have been finally axed, as AirBridgeCargo reins in on its operations worldwide due to deteriorating market conditions and a worsening financial situation also causing the company to ground most of its fleet of 12 AN-124 freighter aircraft and cut staff.
