Nov 01, 2019 (newstodate): FlyBosnia, set up in 2017, may be heading for a harsh landing.
Reports are that the carrier has been forced to re-deliver one of its two Airbus A319 from the carrier's base at Sarajevo to Phoenix Goodyear Airport, in Arizona, as it has failed to cover a debt pile from unpaid charges at Sarajevo Airport.
Fly Bosnia started flight on its first route into Europe between Sarajevo and London Luton Airport from September 24, 2019, with three weekly rotations using Airbus A319 aircraft, and planning for daily rotations at a later stage.
After repeated delays, the carrier obtained its AOC on January 11, 2019, starting out with flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Bahrain, and Kuwait, while regular flights to Rome and Paris were also in the planning.
This year, flyBosnia signed a LoI with AerCap for a further two Airbus A319 before the end of this year, and plans were to grow the fleet further to eight aircraft by 2023.
Behind the carrier is the al-Shiddi Group, the largest Saudi investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina and operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2006
