Nov 12, 2019 (newstodate): Albania is appearing on the radar as a new destination from Helsinki Airport, Finland, in 2020.
Already in September 2019, Finnair announced plans for launching flights from Helsinki to Tirana, in Albania, with the first rotation on May 16, 2020, offering one weekly flight with Airbus A319 aircraft.
Now Norwegian is following suit with announcing the start of flights from June 3, 2020, on the same route, with three weekly rotations using the larger Boeing 737-800.
Seasonal direct flights from Denmark to Tirana were first introduced in summer 2018 by the tour operator Apollo, with flights operated by the Danish carrier DAT using Airbus A320 aircraft, while Norwegian launched flights between Copenhagen and Tirana during the period June 19-August 7, 2019.
