Nov 08, 2019 (newstodate): Details are emerging of plans for the start of Iceland's coming new low-cost carrier PLAY that will add fresh competition in the Icelandic and European air travel markets.
The core group of executives behind the airline to lift-off from this winter is on a road tour to familiarize potential investors with the new venture, including presentation of slides seen by Icelandic media suggesting the first routes to be opened.
Among the first destinations from Keflavik will be London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Alicante and Tenerife, and from 2020 plans comprise flights to four destinations in North America - with options including Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Toronto
From the start, PLAY will be operating two Airbus A321 aircraft, growing to six aircraft in 2020, and to 10 aircraft within the first three years of operation.
