Nov 11, 2019 (newstodate): Hungary's Budapest Airport is looking forward to new China-connections by the end of this year.
Shanghai Airlines has announced the opening of flights on the new route from Shanghai via Xian to Budapest from December 30, 2019, with two weekly rotations using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
And not stopping there, Shanghai Airlines is also preparing for adding two more flights between Shanghai and Budapest routes via Chengdu, with planned start from December 31, 2019.
Today, the only flights between Hungary and China are provided by Air China on the route between Beijing and Budapest, served since May 1, 2015, with four weekly rotations.
Earlier, Hainan Airlines was online as the first Chinese airline at Budapest with flights from Beijing from May 2004 with thrice-weekly rotations operated with Boeing 767-300 aircraft in cooperation with Malev, but pulled out again from March 5, 2012, after Malev went bust.
