Nov 18, 2019 (newstodate): The Russian low-cost carrier Pobeda, today a fully-owned Aeroflot subsidiary, is considering opening an IPO for 25 percent of the stake, according to Russian media.
Russian media reports also claim that the owner of the Virgin Group, Richard Branson has aired his interest in buying into the airline, but this has not been confirmed, for obvious reasons.
Richard Branson is already engaged in ownership in airline companies including Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia and British regional airline Flybe, to be rebranded as Virgin Connect in 2020.
In the fleet of Pobeda are now 30 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and orders have been placed for 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
Based at Moscow Vnukovo Airport, Pobeda received its AOC on November 11, 2014, and performed its maiden flight on December 1, 2014.
