Oct 16, 2019 (newstodate): The ban on flights by Turkmenistan Airlines into EU airspace will soon be lifted.
The European Aviation Safety Agency EASA revoked the carrier's TCO licence on February 4, 2019, causing Turkmenistan Airlines to suspend flights on important routes into the EU pending confirmation that it meets international air safety standards.
The carrier has now successfully passed a series of checks for compliance with the requirements of EASA, and a similar scrutiny of the safety at the country's main international gateway Ashgabat International Airport has also been competed without any remaining issues to be verified.
Hopes are now to see the official approval of Turkmenistan Airlines allowing the carrier to resume services on its routes to EU.
The European Aviation Safety Agency EASA revoking the carrier's TCO licence caused Turkmenistan Airlines to suspend flights on important routes into the EU including flights to Birmingham and London, to Paris, and to Frankfurt.
