Oct 03, 2019 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo is satisfied with its new operator of the COOL Terminal at Helsinki Airport.
With effect from June 1, 2019, Swissport took over management of the COOL Terminal, placed within a separate business unit with Tommi Voss as Swissport Director, Finnair COOL Terminal Operations.
-Collaboration with Swissport as our terminal handling partner for the COOL terminal in Helsinki has taken off very well, and we have started to further develop our cargo processes with them, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Marketing Manager.
-One exciting milestone in the COOL Terminal was reached in late September when the daily volumes handled in the terminal exceeded 900 tonnes of cargo, import and export included.
-At the same time, a new daily record of 160 tonnes of fish flown out of the COOL Terminal was also reached.
Finnair Cargo opened its new cargo handling facility, the COOL Terminal on January 8, 2018, at the airport with a strong focus on handling of perishables and pharma shipments.
-The COOL Terminal achieved CEIV Pharma certification in May 2019, and we are currently putting together our road map for 2020 to obtain CEIV Fresh and CEIV Live animals certification as well, says Ms Nyholm.
