Oct 10, 2019 (newstodate): Waning demand for domestic air travel in Sweden leads Sweden's second-largest airline, BRA to launch flights on five new international routes in 2020.
Three of the coming new routes will connect Stockholm's city airport at Bromma with Oslo Torp, Riga and Tallinn, one route will connect Gothenburg and Berlin, and finally BRA will start operating flights on the route connecting Malmo and Berlin.
Flights from Bromma to Oslo in cooperation with Wideroe will start from end of March 2020, flights to Riga and Tallinn will start on March 30, 2019, flights from Gothenburg to Berlin will commence from March 30, and flights from Malmo to Berlin will launch on April 2, 2020.
BRA will be operating ATR 72-600 aircraft on the routes after taking delivery from this year's last quarter to Q1, 2020, of four new aircraft under a contract with the leasing company Aviation PLC.
BRA currently operates a fleet of 23 aircraft lifting some 2.2 mio passengers annually.
In August 2019, BRA contracted Skyworld for re-marketing of its fleet of eight Avro RJ100 and two Avro RJ85 aircraft, following its strategy to go for an all-turboprop aircraft fleet from the end of this year.
