Oct 15, 2019 (newstodate): Finland's Helsinki Airport saw a sound increase in cargo volumes during January-September 2019.
In the first nine months of this year, a total of 166,940 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled, an increase by 14.1 percent, y-o-y.
Constituting the bulk of the total volumes, 159,196 tonnes were international cargo that was up 14.1 percent, while international mail volumes also increased by 12.3 percent to 6,369 tonnes.
With 1,325 tonnes, domestic cargo plays a modest role but still rose 19.3 percent, while domestic mail with 50 tonnes dropped 58 percent, y-o-y.
