Oct 31, 2019 (newstodate): The Slovenian government is working hard to find solutions to fill the void left by the demise of Adria Airways that folded its wings in bankruptcy on October 1, 2019.
The country is relying heavily on tourism that brings some 400,000 visitors into the country each year, contributing significantly to the country's economy.
Also business air travel and Slovenia's conference tourism calls for an early solution in time for next year's planning and developments.
Efforts are made, and reportedly advancing, to firm up an agreement with a yet-unnamed airline partner to support establishing a new carrier with staff from Adria Airways still available in the market.
Earlier this month, plans were aired for a new airline tentatively named Air Slovenia, slated to lift-off on its first flight already in February 2020 with a fleet of 12 aircraft on a route network comprising 15 destinations in Europe.
