Oct 29, 2019 (newstodate): Air Serbia launched flights between Belgrade and Helsinki this summer - and is now to cooperate with Finnair.
The two airlines have inked a code-share agreement adding Air Serbia's prefix to Finnair's flights between Helsinki and Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Riga, Tartu, Vilnius and Tallinn.
Similarly, Finnair's prefix will be added to Air Serbia's flights between Belgrade and Helsinki as well as on flights between Belgrade and Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Tirana, Bucharest, Sofia, Skopje, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Tivat, Larnaca and Thessaloniki.
For Finnair, the code-share agreement allows the airline to expand its network and reach in the European markets.
Air Serbia launched flights between Belgrade and Helsinki in June 2019 with two weekly rotations using a mix of a leased-in CRJ900 from Nordica and own Airbus A319 aircraft on the route, and the route is now operated year-round confirmed in response to a satisfactory market response.
The agreement with Air Serbia is Finnair's sixth new code-share deal in 2019, after similar agreements with China Southern, Fiji Airways, Jetstar Airways, Juneyao Airlines, and LATAM Airlines.
