Oct 11, 2019 (newstodate): Plans for a new freighter service to lift Norwegian seafood directly out of Bodo Airport, in Northern Norway, are advancing while stake-holders in the project keep the cards tight.
-The process in moving forward and one issue holding back the launch of the coming new freighter service is the unsettled slot application at the Chinese destination, says a source within the working group that prefers to remain unnamed.
-Many other issues have been solved, including an agreement with the yet-undisclosed airline that will operate the flights from Bodo Airport to the Chinese destination via its hub.
-We expect the landing right issue to be solved shortly, with start of the freighter service by November 2019, the source says.
Behind the project is Flybyen, an agency set up by Bodo Commune to spur the development of aviation business in the region, and supporting the project are reportedly several major seafood exporters in the region as well as the Avinor-operated Bodo Airport.
