Oct 15, 2019 (newstodate): Russia will soon see the emergence of a new significant aircraft leasing company to serve the country's airlines - ROAL.
Behind the new venture are three unique partners: the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, and Germany's KGAL GmbH & Co.
News of the coming new consortium was provided by Vladimir Putin attending a Saudi-Russian investment forum in Riyadh on October 14, 2019.
According to a statement from RDIF, the purpose of the project is to invest in modern civil aircraft to be provided to Russian carriers under long-term lease agreements.
The new aircraft leasing company will compete in the Russian market with existing providers including notably the State Transport Leasing Company, Sberbank Leasing, VTB Leasing, VEB Leasing and Avia Capital Services.
