Oct 08, 2019 (newstodate): The Polish carrier LOT continues to expand its international route network.
Starting from August 5th, 2020, the carrier will launch flights on a new route between Warsaw and San Francisco, to be served four times weekly with Boeing 787 aircraft.
From its base at Warsaw, LOT is already operating intercontinental flights to Miami and Los Angeles, and to Delhi, in addition to flights on the route between Krakow and Chicago, and, soon to come, between Krakow and New York.
Because of scarcity of slots at the congested Warsaw Airport, LOT is however also building up a new route network from Budapest, in Hungary, currently comprising flights to New York and Chicago as well as to Seoul, in South Korea.
The growth in LOT's intercontinental network builds on the carrier's fleet of eight Boeing 787-8 and six 787-9 aircraft, to be expanded with a further three 787-9 aircraft on order.
