Oct 07, 2019 (newstodate): AirBridgeCargo is still finding problems with sustaining its freighter service from Oslo Airport to South Korea.
Since September 2019, the flights have been performed by ABC's partner company CargoLogicAir, registered in the UK and not, like ABC, in Russia, to overcome, at least temporarily, the troubles after Russia, in July 2019, abruptly enforced a long-standing, yet unnoticed restriction on transiting seafood through Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, forcing AirBridgeCargo to find alternatives to its freighter service at Oslo Airport.
At first, a temporary solution was found in routing the ABC flights from Oslo to Seoul via Karaganda Airport in Kazakhstan for re-fuelling.
But this came to a dead end as well, leaving the service ground for a period.
The operation was thus resumed in September with the twice-weekly services by ABC's partner, CargoLogicAir.
But CargoLogicAir has now informed the market that "due to operational permit issues, we have had to take the difficult decision to suspend the flight for the foreseeable future".
According to the letter, the carrier aims to return the flight to its schedule again in November 20190, while unable to confirm an exact date for restart of operations.
Since November 15, 2016, AirBridgeCargo has been offering a twice-weekly freighter service from Oslo to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, even going up to three weekly flights from May 28, 2019.
