Oct 14, 2019 (newstodate): Norwegian's Seafood Council is calling participants to its Norway-China Seafood Summit 2019.
   The annual event will take place on October 29, 2019, in Qingdao, Beijing's nearby harbour city, with the participation of the  Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Seafood in the summit program.
   The Seafood Summit is scheduled to precede Asia's largest seafood fair - the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2019 on October 30-November 1, 2019, that will comprise a Norwegian Pavilion organized by Innovation Norway.
   Norway's salmon exporters can rejoice at a rise by 220 percent, y-o-y, in exports of fresh salmon to China in week 40, ending October 6, 2019, to 423 tonnes, while volumes in weeks 1-40, 2019, also increased by 94 percent to 18,967 tonnes.
   As might be expected, volumes exported into Hong Kong are suffering from the ongoing political upheavals, bringing exports in week 40 down by 20 percent to 325 tonnes, and by 11 percent to a total of 10,478 tonnes so far into 2019.
