Oct 16, 2019 (newstodate): In the air on its first commercial flight on June 21, 2019, the new Danish carrier Great Dane Airlines is soon to take in its third aircraft.
Great Dane Airlines started out with two ex-Stobart Air Embraer 195LR aircraft, with the first delivery on June 16, 2019 and the second on June 24, 2019.
A third Embraer 195LR aircraft currently undergoing pre-delivery maintenance checks is now awaited on December 5, 2019, also sourced from Stobart Air's fleet and like the preceding two aircraft placed with the airline on a lease contract with a leasing company set up and owned by Great Dane's prime investor, Eigil B. Christensen.
Based at Aalborg Airport and managed by Thomas Hugo Moller as CEO, Great Dane Airlines started out with scheduled flights on three routes, but the focus has since been turned to charter and ACMI services, leaving aside plans for scheduled operations till a later date.
