Oct 17, 2019 (newstodate): The government of Montenegro has now launched a tender for privatization of the country's two airports at Podgorica and Tivat.
The tender for a 30-years concession for the two airports will take place in two steps, with a 45 days pre-qualification round calling interested parties to apply in order to demonstrate their intent.
Following this round, qualified bidders will next be invited to hand in their final offers in the second round lasting 60 days.
According to the plan, a final concession will then be inked by March 2020.
The two airports will comprise a joint package with the future winner to invest at least 85 mio euro into the development of the two airports.
In 2018, passenger volumes through Podgorica Airport was up 15 percent, y-o-y, to 1.2 mio, while passenger volumes through Tivat Airport were also rising 10 percent to 1.3 mio passengers.
