Oct 08, 2019 (newstodate): Finnair reports an increase in total cargo volumes by nine percent, y-o-y, in September 2019.
The carrier lifted 15,775 tonnes during the month as ASK increased by 13.7 percent, year-on-year, while RSK increased by 11.4 percent, driving the over-all cargo load factor down by 1.5 percentage-point.
All traffic segments performed positively, with volumes on the Asian lanes up eight percent to 11,298 tonnes, NAM lanes up 18.7 percent to 1,278 tonnes, and European volumes up 60.7 percent to 3,151 tonnes.
In the first nine months of this year, the carrier has thus lifted a total of 127,829 tonnes, up 12.5 percent, y-o-y, with the Asian loads rising 10.4 percent to 92,248 tonnes.
-Global uncertainty in world trade continued to press global air freight market in September, and market softness and yield pressures were especially visible in Finnair's cargo markets in Asia, the company says in a comment to the performance in September 2019.
