Oct 30, 2019 (newstodate): Boeing and Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited, GAMECO, has announced plans for establishing a new Boeing 737-800BCF production line in China to meet growing market demand.
Since the start of Boeing 737-800 cargo conversions in 2016, the program has so far booked 130 orders and commitments.
Gameco plans to start conversions in 2020, with an initial target of 17 aircraft.
In the air today are 20 Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft, with the Swedish/UK cargo carrier West Atlantic as the launch customer and first operator from the end of March 2018 and now with four aircraft in service, leased from GECAS and converted at Boeing's modification facility in Shanghai.
