Oct 09, 2019 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot has stated the process of phasing out its fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft.
The first of 22 Airbus A330 aircraft has now left the fleet for re-delivery checks by the Chinese MRO provider HAECO in Hong Kong, and by the end of 2021 the carrier's fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft will have dropped to 12 units.
Poised to replace the aircraft type with Aeroflot is the Airbus A350 aircraft, the first delivery of which is slated for Q1, 2020.
Aeroflot has signed an MoU comprising 28 A350-900 aircraft, with firm orders so far confirmed for 15 units, with eight Airbus A350 to be delivered in 2020, followed by another seven in 2021.
