Jan 28, 2019 (newstodate): Central Asian states are increasingly keen to develop their connectivity with the world, going for implementation of open skies policies.
Kyrgyzstan is thus expected to announce a unilateral open skies policy and 5th freedom rights in the country within this coming week.
The Kyrgyz President has signed a new law on amendments to the country’s air code aiming at developing its civil aviation, boost passenger and cargo air traffic, and develop the connectivity for Kyrgyz citizens and foreign tourists.
Today, the country is only connected to nine markets with direct nonstop flights.
Uzbekistan is also to introduce open skies from the start of this coming summer schedule and so far till the end of the winter 2021/22 schedules
The new open skies will however only start out with Nukus International Airport while slated to be extended to comprise also the airports of Andijan, Nukus and Navoi at a later stage.
Kazakhstan has actually already been experimenting with open skies in connection with the Astana EXPO-2017 international exhibition but still has not extended this period further.
