Jan 22, 2019 (newstodate): One Russian low-cost carrier was radically stepping up its cargo business in 2018: Pobeda Airlines.
In 2018, the carrier lifted a total of 34,614 tonnes of cargo which was a nine-fold increase over the preceding year.
The 2018-volumes also secured the carrier the position as #3 among the country's airlines on a list topped by AirBridgeCargo with 533,369 tonnes, up only 2.5 percent, y-o-y, and Aeroflot with 203,096 tonnes, down 1.3 percent in 2018.
Performing its first commercial flight on December 1, 2014, Pobeda Airlines now operates a fleet comprising 25 Boeing 7837-800 aircraft, with orders placed for 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft starting deliveries from the end of this year.
