Jan 04, 2019 (newstodate): The Russian cargo carrier Atran Airlines has expanded its freighter fleet from the start of the new year.
Atran has thus taken delivery of one more Boeing 737-400BCF aircraft, bringing the fleet to four units.
The Boeing 737-400BCF will be deployed on existing routes between Russia, the CIS and Europe to provide airlift for mail and express shipments.
Atran Airlines is member of the Volga-Dnepr Group together with Volga-Dnepr Airlines and AirBridgeCargo.
Since January 9, 2014, Atran has been operating freighter flights between Sweden's Malmo Airport and Moscow, feeding cargo into and from ABC's network.
During the first 11 months of 2018, AirBridgeCargo carried a total of 533,369 tonnes of cargo, Volga-Dnepr lifted 25,909 tonnes, and Atran generated 10,456 tonnes of cargo.
