Jan 18, 2019 (newstodate): On top of yesterday's confirmation of the opening by Hainan Airlines of the first Chinese passenger flights at Oslo Airport from May 15, 2019, comes news of the first direct freighter operation between Oslo and Tianjin, close to the country's capital. With the launch flight on January 17, 2019, the Slovak carrier Air Cargo Global is now to provide two weekly Boeing 747-400F flights on the route to Tianjin Binhai International Airport, with plans for adding a third flight from March, depending on the response among the Norwegian seafood exporters and forwarders. The route is driven by the Chinese seafood trading company Fish Forever and - of course - strongly supported by Avinor. The Air Cargo Global freighter will fly into Oslo from another European airport - in the case of yesterday's launch flight Frankfurt Hahn Airport.
