Jan 07, 2019 (newstodate): The Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines has now obtained green lights for opening flights to Finland.
In December 2018, the Chinese regulator CAAC approved the airline's application for launch of flights between Guangzhou and Helsinki, and if plans hold China Southern will be online from June 2019 with seven weekly rotations.
The route has been served by Finnair since September 2, 2005, while operations were later suspended after three years until resumed again from summer 2016.
Also in June, the Chinese LCC Juneyao is planning for launch of services on the route connecting Shanghai and Helsinki, already served by Finnair since September 2004 and today operated with daily flights.
