Jan 08, 2019 (newstodate): From summer 2019, the Latvian cargo and passenger charter and ACMI operator RAF-Avia is opening a new base in Italy.
Starting from July 17, 2019, the carrier will allocate one ATR-42-300 passenger aircraft at Salerno Pontecagnano Airport for charter operations in the Mediterranean region.
Earlier focusing on the cargo charter market, RAF-Avia has turned again to adding passenger aircraft charter and ACMI services.
-While RAF-Avia has been focusing on the freighter ACMI market, the passenger market was actually part of our activities until 2006. This business segment has now been re-opened after we obtained rights under a new AOC on September 1, 2016, Jelena Rigere, RAF-Avia Commercial Director, told newstodate in 2018.
