Jan 03, 2019 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo is still waiting for the completion of the CEIV certification of the COOL Nordic Terminal at Helsinki Airport.
The cargo terminal was commissioned on January 8, 2018, when all handling was transferred from the old Finnair Cargo premises at the airport.
80 percent of Finnair's cargo volume is transferring at the carrier's hub at Helsinki Airport calling for fast handling of shipments including the time- and temperature sensitive shipments from pharma and seafood customers though the hi-tech COOL terminal manned by 300 staff and supported by integrated IT systems to secure operational efficiency, full real-time performance monitoring, and transparency shared with business partners.
Crucial to the concept of the COOL Nordic Terminal is the CEIV certification. The process with IATA was thus started concurrently with the opening of the operations, while the eventual certification was expected before the end of 2018.
However, the process has not yet been completed.
-While other actions related to the CEIV certification for the COOL Nordic Terminal have already been completed, IATA will still be making some temperature mappings in January 2019 before the process is fully accomplished, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Marketing Manager.
