Jan 14, 2019 (newstodate): China's largest airline, China Southern Airlines and Finnair have signed an LoI concerning strategic cooperation.
The cooperation is slated to take effect from April 22, 2019, while China Southern Airlines will launch flights on its new route from Guangzhou to Helsinki from July 1, 2019.
The two airlines have agreed to apply for code-sharing their flights on the route that was activated again by Finnair in Summer 2016.
Finnair first launched flights to Guangzhou on September 2, 2005, but pulled out again after three years of operation.
Pending government approvals, the code-share agreement opens up for a cooperation comprising 15 destinations in Europe, eight in China, eight in Australia and New Zealand through Helsinki and Guangzhou.
