Jan 09, 2019 (newstodate): According to local Chinese media, CAAC has now granted one more Chinese carriers rights to launch services to Helsinki. With the first flight on April 8, 2018, Tibet Airlines will be offering two weekly rotations on the route from Jinan, capital of the Shandong province, to Helsinki with Airbus A330 aircraft. The route to Helsinki will be Tibet Airlines' first intercontinental route, and the carrier will also become the first Chinese carrier to operate flights to Finland ahead of the opening of flights already announced by China Southern Airlines from Guangzhou to Helsinki starting from summer 2019 and the Chinese LCC Juneyao Airlines to offer flights from Shanghai to Helsinki, also from summer 2019. In 2019 Helsinki Airport will thus have direct non-stop flights to a number of Chinese destinations including Jinan, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Hong Kong.
