Jan 18, 2019 (newstodate): The Swedish/UK cargo ACMI airline West Atlantic has now taken delivery of its 4th converted Boeing 737-800 freighter - right on schedule.
The Boeing 737-800BCF hit its new operator on January 15 and landed at the carrier's base at British Midlands on January 17, 2019, and will shortly join the three other aircraft serving with FedEx at Liege Airport.
This completes the series of deliveries of this aircraft type to West Atlantic that became the world's first operator of the type.
According to earlier statements by West Atlantic, 2019 will be a year of consolidation and no additional aircraft deliveries are planned for this year.
The four freighters are leased from GECAS, and converted at Boeing's modification facility in Shanghai.
The Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter is equipped with CFM56-7B engines, and has the capacity of carrying up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with 12 main deck positions over 2,000 nautical miles
