Jan 15, 2019 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport noted a modest over-all increase in cargo volumes in 2018.
A total of 11,506 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 1.4 percent, y-o-y.
Tallinn Airport saw a most uneven monthly performance in cargo volumes through the year, with volumes in February and March growing by over 25 percent, y-o-y, while volumes in November and December were down by 13.8 and 22.6 percent, respectively.
Growth in 2018 was generated by mail shipments, with import mail up 27.9 percent, y-o-y, to 1,159 tonnes and consistently growing through the year, and export mail also up by 15.6 percent to 1,375 tonnes, in both cases driven by e-trade growth.
