Sep 26, 2018 (newstodate): Poland will see the opening of a new aircraft maintenance facility at Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport.
Behind the decision is Polish Aviation Group that plans to be offering MRO on aircraft types including Boeing 787, Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 types of aircraft.
The planned new facility will be designed as the largest MRO base of this type in Central and Eastern Europe.
An international airport in southeastern Poland near the Polish border to Ukraine and Slovakia and with a 3,200 m runway, Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport is the seventh-busiest airport in Poland.
Slated for commissioning in 2020, the airport will also see the opening of a new engine maintenance center, EME Aero set up by a JV comprising the German companies Lufthansa Technik AG and MTU Aero Engines AG and offering the annual capacity of handling 400 engine maintenance and repair jobs with a focus on the PW1000G family engines used on the Airbus A320neo and similar types of aircraft.
