Sep 19, 2018 (newstodate): As earlier reported, TUI Nordic is now in a process towards outsourcing its short-haul charter flights to partner airlines Jet Time and Norwegian.
If carried through, TUI Nordic's flights out of Copenhagen and Helsinki will be served by Jet Time, TUI Nordic flights out of Oslo would be served by Norwegian, while TUI Nordic's current own bases at Malmo, Oslo and Helsinki together employing some 150 staff will be closed down.
While Jet Time from the outset declined to comment on the issue, watching developments closely and keeping in close contact with TUI Nordic, Norwegian has taken a less restrained approach to the expected forthcoming changes.
The carrier has thus launched a campaign to attract TUI cockpit crews, promising a "fast track application process".
-We acknowledge that this must be a difficult time for many and would like to offer our outmost support to our friends and colleagues, Norwegian altruistically says in its advertising.
If the restructuring is carried through as proposed, the changes affecting Helsinki will take effect from May 2019, while the changes concerning Oslo, Malmo and Copenhagen will be implemented already before the end of this year, other sources say.
