Sep 06, 2018 (newstodate): New capacity provider in the Polish charter market from summer 2018 is Ryanair Sun.
But - the newcomer seems to have secured a good grip from the start already, carrying some 700,000 passengers in its first season of operations, and the carrier is already in talks with Polish tour operators concerning next year's programs.
Ryanair Sun may well be heading for a position on Poland's Top-3 list of charter carriers from next year.
According to Poland's Civil Aviation Office, Small Planet Airlines was the #1 carrier in the country's charter marked in 2017.
The position was secured by 1.22 mio passengers, corresponding to a market share at 29.97 percent in 2017.
Second came Enter Air with 1.12 mio passengers and 27.5 percent of the market, followed by #3 Travel Service that lifted 1.06 mio passengers achieving a market share at 26.15 percent.
Ryanair Sun has been in the air since April 2018.
Granted its Polish AOC on April 3, 2018, and currently operating only one Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Polish registration, the carrier is actually operating a total of five aircraft including aircraft from the mother company as needed.
Ambitions are to grow the fleet on the charter carrier's own AOC to 15 aircraft in 2019 and to 25 in 2020.
Ryanair Sun's main customers are tour operators TUI Poland and Grecos Holidays flying tourists from Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw to leisure destinations in Greece, Spain, Croatia, Albania and Cyprus.
