Sep 19, 2018 (newstodate): Two of three remaining Airbus A220-300 aircraft to be delivered in 2018 to the Latvian carrier airBaltic are now in the test flight program pending delivery.
The first of these took to the air on September 6, 2018, and the second performed its first flight in the test program on September 18, 2018, while a third aircraft is close to roll out from the final assembly line.
Airbus is thus on the firm path towards fulfilling the earlier stated plan for airBaltic to have 14 A220-300 in service by end of 2018, and well underway to have all 20 deliveries in its initial order completed by the end of 2019 as the next six aircraft are also on the production scheme only eight production numbers ahead.
Next to follow is then the start of deliveries under a fresh firm purchase agreement signed on May 28, 2018, for another batch of 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with options for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type.
