Sep 19, 2018 (newstodate): Azerbaijan's coming new low-cost carrier Buta Airways has now received its seventh aircraft and is rapidly expanding the fleet.
In the fleet are thus now seven Embraer 190 aircraft, and delivery of one more is expected shortly.
Based at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Buta Airways took to the air on its first commercial flight on September 1, 2017, offering flights from Baku to Moscow, Kiev, Antalya, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Tbilisi and Tehran.
The next phase started from October 29, 2017 with flights from Baku to Istanbul and St Petersburg, and from Ganja to Moscow, and in its summer 2018 schedule Buta Airways has operated flights to 12 destinations in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria and Georgia.
The Danish aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital delivered the first batch of six Embraer E190 aircraft to Azerbaijan Airlines that placed the aircraft with its low-cost subsidiary Buta Airways.
