Aug 17, 2018 (newstodate): Moldova's privately-owned LCC carrier FlyOne has run into problems with Russia.
The Russian authorities have reportedly banned FLyOne's flights into Russia as the aircraft operated by FlyOne are flown by non-Moldovan pilots under a wet-lease contract comprising the airline's three aircraft, two Airbus A320s and one A319.
Starting from June 10, 2016, the carrier launched services on its first route from Chisinau to Moscow Domodedovo Airport, offering six weekly rotations, the second route was added on June 20, 2016, with flights to Voronezh, followed the day after with flight to St Petersburg.
The carrier has since expanded its route network to comprise destinations in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the UK.
