Aug 22, 2018 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Yakutia Airlines is mulling plans for acquisition of new aircraft - and focusing on western alternatives.
In the fleet of Yakutia Airlines, based at Yakutsk, Russia, are five Superjet 100 aircraft, but there are no plans to increase this part of the fleet due to claims of inefficient after-sales services and slow provision of spare parts leading to incidents of AOG.
Instead, the airline will look into adding either more Boeing 737 or even introducing the Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Yakutia Airlines today operates five Boeing 737-800 and six Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft, alongside the five Superjet 100 aircraft.
With the first Superjet 100 delivery in September 2012, Yakutia Airlines became the third carrier to operate this aircraft type after Armavia and Aeroflot.
