Aug 16, 2018 (newstodate): A new Estonian carrier Nyxair is on the runway readying to serve the market.
-We will have three SAAB 340 aircraft in the fleet for a start, including two in passenger version and one freighter, says Jaanus Ojamets, Nyxair CEO and owner.
-The first aircraft in passenger configuration is already on our AOC and the second aircraft, the freighter version, will follow shortly while the third aircraft is also on the approach.
-Our focus will be on the ACMI market where we find a strong demand for capacity also for aircraft the size of the SAAB 340. It is of course a challenge to join the business as a newcomer, but we have strong relations to the market players and much professional experience as a firm background.
Apart from this basic information Mr Ojamets still prefers to keep the cards close to the body for another few months, pending firm signatures on contracts currently under negotiation.
The staff of Nyxair comprises several people formerly with another Estonian carrier Airest, for which Mr Ojamets served as CEO until October 1, 2017.
