Aug 08, 2018 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ACMI carrier Avion Express is seeing brisk business and a hike in productivity in 2018.
In this year's first six months, the fleet of Avion Express has thus flown almost 22,000 block hours, a 17 percent increase over H1, 2017, and in June 2018 the carrier set a new record of over 250 block hours flown per day, which is in itself more than 25 percent more than its previous milestone reached in 2017.
The portfolio in 2018 includes new customer SunExpress in Antalya, Turkey, for lease of five Airbus A320 aircraft to be deployed to SunExpress Antalya for operations in summer and autumn 2018.
Avion Express also continues its partnership with Thomas Cook and its daughter company Condor comprising the lease of 12 Airbus A320 family aircraft flying in the UK and Germany.
The latest addition to the fleet of Avion Express consists of three Airbus A320 aircraft in H1, bringing the fleet to a total of 18 Airbus A320 Family aircraft including one A319, 12 A320 and five A321 aircraft.
Managed by Darius Kajokas since April 1, 2018, Avion Express traces its history back to 2005 as Nordic Solutions Air Services that operated SAAB 340 cargo and passenger aircraft.
In 2008, Avion Capital Partners, established by David Masson, became the major shareholder and the company was re-branded as Avion Express, introducing its first Airbus 320 passenger aircraft.
