Aug 27, 2018 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is working towards an all-Airbus A220-300 fleet and is to phase out its remaining Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The carrier has thus entrusted Air Partner Remarketing as its exclusive remarketing agent with finding new owners for three Boeing 737-500 that have been operating continuously on scheduled routes since 1997.
Originally, plans were to phase out the Boeing 737-500 aircraft by 2020, but this deadline has thus been moved forward as the carrier builds up it flet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft, now totaling 11 and set to include 14 aircraft by the end of this year, with all 20 aircraft originally ordered in the fleet by 2020.
Back in 2008, airBaltic's fleet comprised ten Boeing 737500, five Boeing 737-300, one Boeing 757-200, and eight Fokker 50.
