Aug 07, 2018 (newstodate): Finnair's cargo total volumes were up only 1.1 percent, y-o-y, in July 2018, to 14,210 tonnes.
Cargo carried in the airline's belly holds was, however, up by seven percent to 13,372 tonnes while cargo on all-cargo services dropped 46.3 percent to 837 tonnes reflecting the expiry by the end of October 2017 of the agreement with Japan Air Lines Cargo.
The rise in belly cargo volumes was driven especially by a 9.8 hike to 10,291 tonnes in volumes on the Asian lanes, while NAM volumes were also up by 36.6 percent to 1,197 tonnes.
In January-July 2018 the carrier has thus carries a total of 85,058 tonnes which is down 1.5 percent, y-o-y, despite a 14.7 percent increase in volumes on the Asian routes, totaling 62,894 tonnes.
